Fancy Free (registered as Bothwell Manor Skye Flier) is a half-welsh mare by Riverwelsh Renaisiance out of Manor Farm Dancer. She had a successful career showing on the ‘A’ circuit with many wins over fences and under saddle.

 

Fancy Free was first overall in 2008 in the OHJA green pony hunter division. In 2009 she finished in 14th position in the OHJA large pony hunter division and in 2010 she finished in 6th place overall and competed at the Royal Winter Fair.

 

Once she had proven herself in competition, Wrenwood enlisted Fancy Free to start our breeding program. She retired from competition completely sound, but we wanted to breed ponies, so she was recruited as our first broodmare.

 

Fancy Free’s sire, Riverwelsh Renasiance, is a Canadian-bred welsh pony stallion. His offspring all have fantastic temperaments and are lovely movers. Fancy Free’s full brother, Speak Easy, was also a successful hunter pony on the ‘A’ circuit.

 
Fancy Free’s dam, Manor Farm Dancer, is sired by Ghostwalker, son of the Hanoverian stallion Goldshlager. Manor Farm Dancer was an excellent producer of hunter ponies and always produced hack winning movers.

 

Fancy Free ("Sky") is a wonderful mother to her foals and a pleasure to have around the farm. She didn’t require any prep at shows and was never spooky at the fences. Her unflappable personality is a great asset, and whenever we feel like going for a ride, we can just tack her up and go!
